Hello,
My husband and I are traveling to St. John on August 18th. We are from the state of Florida, but have been staying in Virginia and Indiana for two months to steer clear of the virus. We have paperwork from the places we are staying to show that. We will only be returning to Florida for 24 hours to board our plane. Do we still need a test/or be quarantined?
Any traveler aged 15 and older whose home state (state of residence) has a Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) positivity rate greater than 10 percent will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 antigen (molecular/PCR/rapid) test result received within five days prior to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands OR a positive COVID-19 antibody test result received within four months prior to travel to the Territory.
Florida currently is on the list of states for which the U.S. Virgin Islands requires travelers to take a COVID-19 test for entry into the Territory. Positivity rates according to data and analysis from Johns Hopkins University can be found here: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/tracker/overview.
Travelers unable to produce the required test result will be subject to a quarantine for 14 days or until they are able to receive the required test result while in the Territory.

Even though we upload results into the travel portal before arriving to the island, are we required to carry the physical test results on paper on arrival to the screening station? The tests we will be receiving will have online access to results only. I wanted to confirm we didn’t need to fill any additional forms out, and that the online travel portal would be suffice.
Upon arrival in the U.S. Virgin Islands you will need to present the email response you received after completing the prescreening process through the Travel Portal.
Stay safe, and enjoy your visit to the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands.

My husband and I are scheduled to arrive from Florida to USVI on Tuesday August 11 to begin our 9-day stay for our honeymoon.
Our Covid-19 test results are due to be e-mailed to us on that Tuesday.
May we enter and quarantine in our hotel room for a few hours until our test results arrive?
Travelers who are required to produce the required test result but are unable to do so will be subject to quarantine. The quarantine period is 14 days or until the traveler is able to receive the required test result while in the Territory. Quarantine occurs at your booked accommodations provider.
Please note all travelers to the U.S. Virgin Islands must complete a prescreening form to provide basic, but essential, information regarding your travel to and stay in the Territory. The portal can be accessed at http://www.usviupdate.com/travelportal.
Please continue to stay safe, monitor http://www.usviupdate.com, and enjoy your visit to the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands.
We are arriving in St Thomas on 8/30 from Missouri. Last month our daily positive went from about 8% to 14+% but today has trended down to 10.7% daily positivity (Overall testing positivity listed at 7.62%) We are from a rural area with very few cases but we realize we are “lumped” with the whole state. Presuming the downward trend continues for the next three weeks and falls below the 10% required, what should we plan to be safe for our health requirements to enter STT?
Any traveler aged 15 and older whose home state (state of residence) has a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) positivity rate greater than 10 percent will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 antigen (molecular/PCR/rapid) test result received within five days prior to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands or a positive COVID-19 antibody test result received within four months of travel to the Territory.
COVID-19 tests are recommended, but not required, for travelers aged 15 and older whose home states have positivity rates greater than 7.5 percent. This is to ensure travelers are prepared for possible “spikes” in rates while preparing for travel.

My husband and I will be arriving 8/21 To USVI from Texas. if we take the test Saturday 8/15. Would that sufficient time ? Or should we take Monday 8/17? I’m afraid we won’t receive in time.

Travelers unable to produce the required test result upon arrival will be subject to quarantine for 14 days, or until they are able to receive the required test result while in the Territory.

My family and I are scheduled to be on St. John from the 22-29 of August. We will be traveling from Missouri. Will we be required to show negative test results upon arrival? I understand that anyone traveling from a state with a percentage of positive test results greater than 10% will be required to show a negative test. However I don’t know if that 10% is the overall positive test rate or if it is a 7 day average or if it is the positive test rate for the day we arrive. Can you please clarify and also let me know if Missouri is currently on the list of States that are required to show a negative test.

The COVID-19 testing requirements are based on the 7-day moving average rate of positivity as shown on the Johns Hopkins Testing Trends Tool, and apply to the traveler’s state of residence.
